Produce a report of hardware on your system with Windows. Usefull for setting up hardware under linux at the install fest. Scroll down for Windows 98 instructions.
o Attach and power on all peripheral devices such as scanners you want to run under Linux.
o Turn on your default printer.
o Click on the start button.
o Select run.
o Type devmgmt.msc in the text box which appears and click OK.
o In the window which appears highlight an item in the main pane and then click on Print from the 'View' drop menu at the top of the window.
o Attach and power on all peripheral devices such as scanners you want to run under Linux.
o Turn on your default printer.
o Hold your mouse over the My Computer Icon on your desktop. Right click and chhose Properties fron the pop up menu
o A System properties dialog box will appear. Choose the Device Manager tab and click on the Print button.
A report of hardware on your computer should be printed. Please bring this with you to the install fest. This report will be usefull for finding hardware descriptions and settings
